The Defect Notification Database(See Sample Record) contains recall and defect notices to marine manufacturers on vessels and machinery. Defect Notification records cover the years 1972 to September 1995. However, there are only a few records for 1974-1976, because of missing data. Most of the field names are self explanatory, and include case and campaign information and individual records, as well as recall campaign vessels affected by type of problem, model of vessel, and number of vessels affected.
